About Chef Donald Young

Recognized as one of the youngest chefs to be awarded a Michelin star in the U.S., Executive Chef Donald Young (2024 James Beard Award Best Chef Great Lakes Semifinalist) of Duck Sel is earning wide-spread acclaim as one of the most exciting chefs to watch in America. Young began his culinary career at age 17, where he worked under award-winning chef Roland Liccioni at Le Francais, famed Chicagoland French restaurant opened by legendary French-American chef Jean Banchet. While pursuing a degree in culinary arts, Young secured a six-month internship in Castres, France, where he studied under acclaimed chef Simon Scott at Michelin-starred Bistrot Saveurs. Enthralled with French cuisine, Young followed his mentor Liccioni throughout most of his career, ascending through culinary roles at beloved Chicago restaurants Miramar Bistro and Les Nomades.

Indulge in award-winning wines from Brooks Wines, located in Oregon’s picturesque Willamette Valley, and savor expertly crafted whiskey cocktails that perfectly complement each exquisite course. The evening will culminate with a special whiskey flight tasting, offering a selection of the finest whiskeys from Uncle Nearest, Premium Whiskey.

This exclusive event is limited to just 30 guests, ensuring an intimate and extraordinary evening with fellow tastemakers.

Don't miss your chance to secure a spot for this one-night-only dining experience.

Tickets are $175, with proceeds benefiting The Trotter Project’s scholarships and mentorship programs, nurturing the next generation of culinary and hospitality talent.

Presented in collaboration with American Wagyu Association, Bobby Nashville, Brooks Wines, Foode, Wilders and Uncle Nearest.
